Jacob Rodgers was sitting in the passenger seat of his best friend’s truck when his life changed forever. A Gainesville city employee ran a stop sign and plowed into Jacob’s friend’s vehicle. Tragically, Jacob was paralyzed in the accident.

That was in 2016.

Fast forward five years and Jacob (with the help of Morgan & Morgan) found justice in the form of a $120 million verdict against the city of Gainesville—one of the largest verdicts in Morgan & Morgan’s history.

From day one, the city refused accountability and claimed that their employee wasn’t in the wrong. But Morgan & Morgan attorneys Jeff Humphries, Brian McClain, and Brian Lee, who led the fight, were undeterred. The city’s driver was found 100% liable.

On Thursday, May 6th, an Alachua County jury awarded the massive verdict for “past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering, and loss of household services to cover the cost of support he will need to do daily household tasks.”
