John Yanchunis: Florida Bar Cybersecurity Appointment and Award

With the ever-increasing importance of cybersecurity and consumer privacy, the Florida Bar recently created a standing committee dedicated to these issues—the Florida Bar Cybersecurity and Privacy Law  Committee. In recognition of his substantial success in advocating consumers' privacy rights, the incoming Florida Bar President, Scott Westheimer, appointed John Yanchunis to the committee.

Mr. Yanchunis was also chosen as the recipient of the 2023 Consumer Protection Attorney of the Year Award by the Florida Bar’s Consumer Protection Committee for his success in advocating for consumers.  The award is given annually to lawyers, who help consumers and educate peers about the practice of consumer law. This award can recognize a legal service, public interest, academic, or private attorney whose exceptional contributions to consumer law have strengthened and affirmed the rights of consumers in Florida.
