Biography Overview
Alan was admitted to the Alabama Bar after graduation from the Cumberland School of Law in 1993. Since that time, Mr. Lasseter has practiced law as a trial attorney in courtrooms throughout Alabama. Alan takes immense satisfaction in speaking up for hardworking, everyday people whose lives were tragically altered due to the carelessness of others.
In 2010, after enjoying success as a trial attorney at other law firms, Alan started his own firm in 2010 which he maintained for more than 10 years before joining Morgan & Morgan. Alan has obtained numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for individual clients over the years. Some of those verdicts and settlements for Alan's clients included a $7 million dollar jury verdict in a trucking case, a $4 million dollar verdict for a plaintiff struck by a motorcycle, a $2 million dollar settlement in a medical malpractice case, and a $12 million dollar settlement on behalf of numerous young women abused in a state run facility.
According to Alan, he credits his success in the courtroom to focusing on delivering his client's story to the jury "so that jurors can relate to her on a personal level, relate to the reality of what she's been through and how her everyday reality will be affected for the rest of her life." For Alan, his ability to effectively deliver his client's story "begins and ends with listening, really listening, to what she tells me about her experience.
