Alan Belcher

Biography Overview

Alan Belcher is a civil trial attorney in Morgan & Morgan's Charleston, South Carolina Office. Alan has tried more than 100 civil cases to verdict in the South Carolina State and Federal court system, AAA arbitrations, and private arbitrations. He has also argued cases before the Court of Appeals for the State of South Carolina and the Supreme Court of Appeals for the State of South Carolina. He has been honored as a Super Lawyer™ and he is a recipient of the Best Lawyers in America Award™. In 2023, he was honored as a Legal Elite by Charleston Business Magazine. Alan spent the first half of his legal career in the large defense firm setting, primarily representing insurance companies and corporations in personal injury and business litigation throughout the Southeastern United States. However, as opportunities arose, he has represented individuals against insurance companies and businesses. He has successfully recovered millions of dollars for his clients, including six-figure and seven-figure recoveries. Alan joined Morgan & Morgan in 2023 to put his extensive experience and accomplishments in the insurance industry to work for Morgan & Morgan’s clients. Alan was awarded his Juris Doctor Degree from the West Virginia University College of Law where was an Associate Editor of the West Virginia Law Review and an Associate Justice of the Moot Court Board. He is also a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College where he studied biology and political science and was a three-year letterman on the college’s football team. In his spare time, Alan enjoys spending time with his family and his dogs. He is also an avid offshore fisherman.
