Tyco Lawsuit

Patients who were implanted with the Tyco IVS Tunneller mesh in the repair of pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and are now suffering from mesh erosion or other complications may have legal recourse. Allegedly, the mesh was defectively manufactured, and its design may have put patients at a greater risk for vaginal mesh complications than other safer alternatives. As a result, women who experienced problems after being implanted with the Tyco mesh may be able to file a claim seeking compensation for medical bills, pain and suffering and other damages.

Have you experienced side effects or complications with the Tyco vaginal mesh? Fill out our free case review form today and our defective product attorneys will determine, at no cost to you, whether you can file a transvaginal mesh lawsuit to recover financial compensation.

Tyco POP Mesh Complications

The Tyco IVS Tunneller, as well as other meshes implanted transvaginally, has been associated with a number of side effects, which may require additional surgery or other treatment. In fact, the FDA released a transvaginal mesh announcement in July 2011 informing the public and healthcare providers that the surgical placement of mesh through the vagina may put POP patients at a greater risk for complications than other surgical options. These vaginal mesh side effects can reportedly include:

  • Mesh erosion
  • Pain
  • Vaginal scarring
  • Pain during sex
  • Recurrence of pelvic organ prolapse
  • Urinary problems
  • Mesh infection

If you are suffering from an eroded mesh or other vaginal mesh side effects after being implanted with the Tyco IVS mesh, complete our free case review form to find out if you may be entitled to financial compensation.

Tyco IVS: Possible Causes of Mesh Complications

Allegedly, patients who were implanted with the Tyco IVS Tunneller may be at risk for mesh erosion or other POP complications due to the design of the mesh. For many years before the release of the Tyco IVS, it was widely accepted that mesh devices with larger pores (macroporous) were a preferable, safer design. The Tyco IVS mesh, however, is microporous and can allegedly provide a place where infection could grow and spread, as the pores are not large enough to let in beneficial cells which could help fight the bacteria.

Pelvic Mesh Litigation

Because the manufacturer may have failed in its duty to keep consumers safe from unreasonable harm, patients suffering from Tyco mesh complications may have legal recourse. Likewise, women who were implanted with other vaginal meshes, including the AvaultaColoplast meshCaldera mesh, and Bard pelvic meshes, may also be able to participate in vaginal mesh class action litigation. Potentially, a pelvic mesh lawsuit would provide these individuals with an opportunity to seek compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering and other damages resulting from their complications. There is a time limit for filing all vaginal mesh lawsuits, so do not hesitate tocontact us today to find out if you can file a claim for compensation.
