Heating Pad Burns

Heating pads, like those from Sunbeam, offer numerous health benefits and can keep you from shivering during the cold winter months, but these products are often more dangerous than we’d like to think. In some cases, these products are manufactured poorly, with lesser materials and a lack of emphasis on user safety, which has led to many products overheating to dangerous temperatures during use. Whether the unit fails to turn off automatically or it’s unable to regulate the temperature, the harm is all the same, as the manufacturer could have prevented the damage by putting some forethought into their design and production process. Unfortunately, there have already been cases of users sustaining painful injuries when their defective heating pad overheats, and there may be more unless there’s a formal recall that removes them from store shelves.

One case of injury involved an older woman whose heating pad caught fire underneath her body while she was asleep. While she was able to move away from the flames, she did walk away from the incident with third-degree burns and an expensive hospital bill, all because the manufacturer behind her heating pad failed to properly safety-test the product prior to sale. Many other stories involve similar circumstances, but you should know that the manufacturer's negligence isn’t your burden to bear. By teaming up with a skilled attorney, you can file a lawsuit against the at-fault organization and recover the compensation you deserve for the hardship you’ve endured.

At Morgan & Morgan, we’re committed to helping the victims of dangerous and defectives recover their damages and hold the organization that caused the harm accountable for their actions. Negligent manufacturers place unsafe products within the homes of the customers who support their business, and for them to care little about your safety is nothing short of an unacceptable offense. Our product liability attorneys have the necessary experience, knowledge, and resources to confidently deliver you the best results in your case, making us an undeniable asset in your pursuit of rightful compensation.
