BRP Snowmobile Recall

Snowmobiles offer utility like none other, but only if they're manufactured safely and in a way that won’t cause injury to the rider during operation.

Unfortunately, one popular brand of snowmobiles, Ski-Doo, is currently the subject of a recall after a manufacturing error that has caused several riders to sustain serious injuries. According to the recall, the Expedition, Grand Touring, Renegade, Skandic, and Tundra models contain a defect in the speedometer that causes the meter only to display half of the vehicle’s speed during operation, leading to a loss of control and an eventual crash. BRP, the manufacturer of Ski-Doo products, has since offered repair services for the affected models, but this is only a band-aid fix to the much larger problem: an organization acting negligently and placing unsafe products in the hands of consumers.

Product liability laws exist to protect consumers from the consequences of an unsafe or defective product that finds its way to the open market, and all manufacturers are legally liable for any harm their products cause once they are sold. BRP should have enforced stricter product safety regulations in their manufacturing process to avoid a situation like this, but instead, they chose to act unethically and expose their customers to a risk of injury. Their actions, or lack of action, can cause real-life consequences for innocent families who are using their Ski-Doo product for its intended purpose, which is nothing short of an unacceptable offense. If one of these products causes you harm, you can potentially file a lawsuit against the manufacturer, and our attorneys are standing by to ensure that it goes as smoothly as possible.

While a lawsuit can’t reverse the damage, holding the at-fault organization accountable for its negligence can keep families across the country safe from harm and set an example for others to follow. Fortunately, Morgan & Morgan has some of the best product liability attorneys in the business, and we’re committed to recovering every cent of the compensation our clients deserve. If a Ski-Doo product injured you or someone close to you after the speedometer defect caused them to lose control, our attorneys are ready to take your call and help you find success in your legal challenge.
