Celexa Birth Defects

Celexa is an antidepressant drug in the SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) family. SSRIs are used to treat anxiety, depression, and a number of other psychological issues.

Unfortunately, these types of drugs have also been linked to a risk of certain serious birth defects, including congenital heart defects, as well as skull and abdominal defects.

Women who took Celexa, and drugs similar to it during pregnancy ran a higher risk of giving birth to child with congenital defects.
