Supplemental Health Insurance and Cancer Policy Fraud

Reportedly, some insurance companies selling supplemental insurance policies, including cancer policies, have adopted a new practice which has lead to the improper and unfair payment of claims under these policies. For years, insurance companies paid policy benefits based on the amount the doctor or hospital billed the patient, before any discounts the healthcare provider, doctor, or hospital may have negotiated separately with the patient’s private health insurer orMedicare.

However, some insurance companies are now paying benefits based on this discounted amount, rather than the full value of the covered service. As a result of this alleged cancer policy fraud, policyholders who have noticed a reduction in the amount of benefits paid under their supplemental insurance policy may have legal recourse.

Have you noticed a reduction in the amount paid to you for services covered by a supplemental insurance policy, such as a cancer policy?Find out if you can participate in a cancer policy lawsuit to recover financial compensation by completing our no cost, no obligation case review form.
