The Week in Recalls: Week of January 24, 2025

2024–2025 Kia Sorento
Kia has announced the recall of almost 74,500 Sorento SUVs, including hybrid and plug-in hybrid models, due to a software problem in the body systems control unit that can affect the proper functioning of the headlights and taillights.
The models affected include:
- 2024-2025 Sorento
- 2025 Sorento hybrid (HEV) and PHEV
2017–2019 Jeep Cherokee
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Jeep Cherokee vehicles, a the power transfer unit (PTU) may become damaged and disengage the transmission and differential, resulting in a loss of drive power and/or loss of park function. A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash, and a loss of park function can cause an unintended vehicle rollaway, which can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Teckwe Hair Dryer Brushes
SHEIN Distribution Corporation recalled its Teckwe Hair Dryer Brushes due to an electrocution or shock hazard. The handheld hair dryer brushes lack an immersion protection device, posing an electrocution or shock hazard to consumers if the hair dryer brushes fall into water when plugged in.
ChrisDowa Roller Window Shades
ChrisDowa has recalled its Roller Window Shades due to strangulation and entanglement hazards. The recalled roller shades have long operating cords that pose strangulation and entanglement hazards to children in violation of the federal regulations for window coverings.
GiantMouse Folding Knives
GiantMouse recalled its GM12 and GMP12 Folding Knives due to a laceration hazard. The locking mechanism on the folding knives can fail.
NQDTPBOR Multi-Purpose Helmets
NQDTPBOR has recalled its Multi-Purpose Helmets due to a risk of head injury. The helmets can fail to protect the wearer in the event of a crash.
2021–2023 Bronco Sport and 2022–2023 Maverick
Ford Motor is recalling certain 2021-2023 Bronco Sport and 2022-2023 Maverick vehicles due to concerns over battery failure. The 12-volt battery may experience degradation and suddenly fail, which can result in a loss of electrical accessories, including the hazard lights, or cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
