The Week in Recalls: Week of April 25, 2025

The following product recalls have been announced this week—make sure you’re in the know.
2022–2023 Ford Maverick Vehicles
Ford has issued multiple recalls for the Ford Maverick Hybrid model years 2022 and 2023. The first is for a fire risk, requiring a software update for the powertrain control module (PCM). The second is for a heating element that warms up the emission sensors, which might malfunction, causing incorrect readings. The third recall is for errors in the air/fuel enrichment program that could cause improper emissions in certain circumstances. The fourth was a compliance recall as the truck might not be able to detect burned-out rear turn-signal bulbs. The fifth recall was due to the instrument panel failing to illuminate, making driving in low light and at night dangerous. The sixth recall was for improper calibration that might overload the taillamp circuits and burn out the bulbs. The seventh was due to the rearview camera feed freezing. The eighth recall was due to the exhaust gas heat recovery system, which uses heat from the exhaust for other functions, such as the HVAC system, that might have a faulty actuator circuit board. Lastly, the ninth recall covers the driver’s side seat buckle, offering a free replacement up to 15 years or 250,000 miles should it fail.
2023–2025 Dodge Hornets and Alfa Tonales Vehicles
Stellantis is recalling 10,372 Dodge Hornets and 8,122 Alfa Tonales due to safety risks. The badge-engineered crossovers have a display module that may not show a rearview camera image when in reverse, failing to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

2014–2020 Honda Acura MDX
Honda is recalling more than 150,000 2014–2020 Acura vehicles due to a safety risk. A fault in the car's tailgate lid assembly could allow moisture to enter and could cause the interior and exterior lights to fail, including the lid lights, position lights, license plate lights, and taillights.
