The following product recalls have been announced this week—make sure you’re in the know.

 

VARMFRONT Power Banks

IKEA is recalling all VARMFRONT Power Banks due to a fire hazard as the power banks can overheat. 

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled banks and return them to any IKEA store for a free replacement product or for a full refund.

 

Berkeley Jensen Gazebos

BJ’s Wholesale Club has recalled 32,500 units of the Berkley Jensen Gazebos due to an injury hazard. The roof panels can come off in high winds and could hurt someone.

 

Trader Joe’s Mango Tangerine Scented Candles

The Trader Joe's Company has recalled its Mango Tangerine Scented Candles due to a fire hazard. The candle flame can spread from the wick to the wax causing a larger than expected flame.

 

Ambiano Single Serve Coffee Makers

ALDI has recalled all Ambiano Single Serve Coffee Makers due to a burn hazard. The recalled coffee makers can expel hot water from the top of the machine.

 

Mamibaby and Cosy Nation Baby Loungers

Mamibaby and Cosy Nation Baby Loungers have been recalled due to suffocation risks and fall and entrapment hazards. The recalled baby loungers violate federal safety regulations because the sides are too low to contain the infant, the sleeping pad is too thick, posing a suffocation hazard, an infant could fall out of an enclosed opening at the foot of the lounger or become entrapped, and the loungers do not have a stand, posing a fall hazard if used on elevated surfaces.

 

DeWALT Battery Walk-Behind Mowers

Stanley Black & Decker has recalled DeWALT Battery Walk-Behind Mowers due to a laceration hazard. If water gets into the mower’s handle support while the battery is installed, the mower can fail to shut off when the bail handle is released or start without a key.

 

BMW Series 1 – 6 and X Series SUVs

BMW is recalling more than 1.3 million vehicles in China that might have Takata airbag inflators, including models from series 1 to series 6 cars and the X1, X3, X4, X5, and X6 SUVs. A small number of vehicles in the recall may have Takata inflators if the owner changed the steering wheel. Takata airbag inflators can explode when the airbag deploys, sending fragments into the car and injuring the occupants.

 

BMW X1, X3, and X5 Water Pump Electrical Connectors

BMW is recalling more than 720,000 vehicles, including includes some X1, X3, and X5 vehicles, due to an issue with the water pump’s electrical connector that could potentially lead to a fire.  The impacted vehicles have water pumps with insufficient sealing and may be susceptible to fluid ingress at the electrical plug connector over time, which can lead to a fire if a short circuit occurs.

 

Miniverse Toys

MGA Entertainment has recalled 21 Million of its popular Miniverse toys due to the presence of unused liquid resins. The manufacturer has received 26 reports of injuries, including skin burns and respiratory issues.
