Truck Driver Charged in Fatal Multi-Vehicle Accident
A Georgia truck driver has been charged with multiple violations after causing a four-vehicle accident that killed two people. According toWDUN, 38-year-old Stephen Scott was driving a box truck when he slammed into the back of a Nissan Altima that was slowed in traffic on I-985 in Gwinnett County. The Altima then smashed into a Dodge Ram pickup and a Saturn minivan towing a trailer with an ATV. The two occupants of the pickup were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but the two occupants of the Altima were killed in the crash.
The two occupants of the Altima that were killed in the accident were 60-year-old Donna Keese and her husband, 62-year-old John Keese of Lawrenceville, Ga. Lithonia native Scott was charged with following too closely and two counts of second degree vehicular homicide, and was arrested after receiving treatment at the hospital. Scott was released from the Gwinnett County jail on $12,700 bond.
