Orlando Chiropractor Charged after Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident - Police Tape

A top Orlando chiropractor has been charged after a fatal hit-and-run accident in Volusia County that left a Fort Myers motorcyclist dead. According to ABC 7, Dr. Kevin Wynne rear-ended 50-year-old Sabra Vocaturo's Harley Davidson motorcycle as she rode near Orlando, and she was run over by two other cars. Wynne fled the scene, but the Florida Highway Patrol found pieces of his 2011 Infiniti-QX6 and eventually connected his vehicle with the accident, according to reports. Wynne was held at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Seminole County but has since been released after posting $50,000 bail.

The tragic accident occurred on a rainy evening on State Road 415 in Volusia County. Allegedly, Wynne struck Vocaturo from behind and she was thrown into oncoming traffic, where she was hit by two other vehicles. Reportedly, after fleeing the scene, the doctor drove to Deltona and parked in a store parking lot, where he called a friend to pick him up. The day after the crash, Wynne's lawyer called the FHP and told them the location of her client’s SUV. Troopers then used phone records to place Wynne at the accident.

Wynne was charged by the Florida Highway Patrol with leaving the scene of an accident involving death and reckless driving for driving too fast for conditions. If convicted of his current charges, he faces up to 30 years in prison. Ironically, Wynne Family Chiropractic in Lake Mary supposedly specializes in giving care to accident victims. Wynne’s website states that he became a chiropractor after being injured in a car crash.

Have you been involved in a hit-and-run or a motorcycle accident? There is a common misconception that motorcyclists are the primary cause of their accidents, but the statistics show this is usually not the case. As shown by this horrifying accident, motorcycle accidents and injuries are predominantly caused by the driver of another vehicle failing to detect an inconspicuous motorcycle in traffic due to a lack of caution or awareness of the automobile driver. If you have been involved in a motorcycle accident caused by another vehicle, you may be able to seek compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
