Morgan & Morgan Attorneys Give Thanks By Giving Back This Thanksgiving
The holiday season is nearly upon us. This is the time when we gather with friends and family and give thanks for what we have, celebrate the traditions left to us by those long gone, and make new traditions with those we hold dearest. Next week, many of us will crisscross the country, our state, our city, or even just walk across the street to gather with our families for Thanksgiving. Morgan & Morgan is very proud that many of our attorneys understand that part of giving thanks is being able to give back.
During the holiday season, it is easy to forget that many in our own communities lack the means to participate in one of the basic tenets of the holiday, Thanksgiving dinner. Understanding and supporting the spirit of volunteerism and charity work is something not required to work at Morgan & Morgan; but it is required to fit in with our firm culture and adhere to the character traits we aspire to imbue on our local communities.
This is why our hearts are warmed when we hear about our attorneys donating time and resources to distribute turkeys for Thanksgiving. Giving what assistance and comfort they can, to those in the communities we serve, who would otherwise go without. Tomorrow, several attorneys from our Jackson, Mississippi office will be donating their time at the St. Columb’s Episcopal Church’s IONA House. They will help distribute turkeys and all of the “fixings” needed for a Thanksgiving dinner to over 200 families. The church’s congregation will provide the food and each family will get corn, green beans, a box of stuffing, cake mix, and a turkey.
The pickup tomorrow is from 9 AM - 1 PM. The address of IONA house is 315 Claiborne Avenue, Jackson, MS. Morgan & Morgan is happy to be supporting our attorneys and their local community by donating $1,000 to this cause.
This is not limited to our Jackson, MS office. Last week in Atlanta, Morgan & Morgan attorney Justin Miller participated in and helped sponsor Positive American Youth's annual turkey giveaway. He helped give away toys, groceries, and over 100 turkeys to local residents in need.
There are many other stories we can share but the warm feeling from helping others is better earned and not read. We encourage all of you to consider donating or volunteering at a local soup kitchen or charity near you. Feed America is a national organization that can assist you in finding a local food bank or soup kitchen that can use your help this holiday season and beyond. Grab your kids, your friends, and your neighbors and give someone else reasons to be thankful for this holiday season.
