FXI Recalls 48,000 Mattresses Due to Risk of Mold Exposure
What: Novaform ComfortGrande 14-inch and Novaform DreamAway 8-inch Mattresses

On September 21, 2023, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission(CPSC) issued a joint press release with FXI, Inc., a company that specializes in bedding and mattress products based in Radnor, Pennsylvania, for a recall of two of their mattress models after the company received 541 complaints from customers who discovered mold in the mattress. The mattresses in question were exclusively at Costco stores in the Northwest United States and in the San Francisco Bay area and online from January 2023 through June 2023 for between $150 and $750, and the recall affected roughly 48,000 units.
Currently, the company has not received notice of any injuries associated with the recalled mattresses. However, the risk involved is severe as people who use these moldy mattresses could develop an infection, allergies, lung problems, or other health problems. Those who are allergic or sensitive to mold, people with underlying lung problems, or people with a weakened immune system are at high risk. If you or a loved one owns one of the recalled FXI mattresses and have exhibited the following symptoms, you may be suffering from mold exposure and should immediately seek medical attention.

This recall involves Novaform ComfortGrande 14-inch and Novaform DreamAway 8-inch mattresses. The ComfortGrande 14-inch mattress has a blue base with "Novaform" printed in white letters. The DreamAway 8-inch mattress has a gray base with "Novaform" printed in white letters. Customers can find the item number printed on the mattress box and on the law tag attached to the mattresses. Only the mattresses manufactured at FXI's San Bernardino, California facility between January 2, 2023, and April 28, 2023, with the following model/item numbers, are included in the recall.

The company noted if the mattress was manufactured in another FXI facility outside of the San Bernardino, California facility, it was not affected by this recall. FIX Customers Can Expect Full Refunds
If you have verified that you are in possession of one or more of the recalled FXI mattresses, customers only need to call FXI at 888-886-2057 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET in order to arrange for a replacement of their mattress or request a full refund of the mattress at their purchase price. FXI customers can locate the fixed prices in the list above. Once verified, FXI will arrange for the existing mattress to be retrieved from your home, and if a replacement is requested, deliver a new one to you at no cost.
In order to place a request for replacement, customers will need to provide their law tag, which can be found on the mattress. No receipts are necessary, and the replacement will take anywhere from 3-7 business days after verification.
