Former Orange-Osceola Chief Judge Belvin Perry Joins Morgan & Morgan

Morgan & Morgan is proud to announce that former Orange and Osceola Counties Chief Judge Belvin Perry, Jr. has joined the firm as its newest personal injury attorney. According to Perry, his new role as a plaintiffs’ personal injury trial lawyer fulfills a lifelong dream of helping those who could use a man of his professional caliber in their corner.

“I’ve always wanted to be that giant that looked out for the little guy, the little guy who happened to be injured who was going, tilting at a gigantic windmill, and wanted to be the voice for the little person,” Perry said at a press conference Tuesday.

John Morgan, who was also present at Tuesday’s announcement, called Perry’s recruitment “one of the greatest compliments” ever received by Morgan & Morgan in its nearly 26-year history.

“He has seen all the law firms of this town appear before him . . . and we’re just honored that he chose us to continue his legal career,” Morgan said, adding that Perry will be “very active” in trying cases and mentoring the firm’s stable of up-and-coming young lawyers.

A judge of Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit for nearly 25 years, Perry’s name is arguably most recognizable from his time spent presiding over the Casey Anthony murder trial in 2011.

Although Morgan & Morgan currently represents Zenaida Gonzalez, the nanny who is suing Anthony for defamation, Perry says that period of his life has long since concluded. Perry added that he will have absolutely no involvement in the firm's case against Anthony.

“Casey Anthony, as far as I’m concerned, is a closed book for me. Period,” Perry said. “I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life.”
