BlendJet Blenders

BlendJet recalled 4.8 million BlendJet2 blenders due to broken blades, overheating issues, and nearly 50 injuries reported. The recalled blenders had 329 reports of the blades breaking while in use and 17 reports of the blender overheating and causing fires that resulted in an estimated $150,000 in property damage.

 

2020–2024 KIA Telluride SUVs

Kia recalled about 460,000 Telluride SUVs from model years 2020 – 2024 because its front seats could catch fire. The front power seat motor could overheat due to a stuck power seat slide knob. There were at least seven known reports of the seats smoking and/or catching fire.

 

Insignia® Air Fryers

In March, Best Buy recalled all (about 187,400) Insignia® Air Fryers and Air Fryer Ovens due to fire, burn, and laceration hazards. The air fryers could overheat, causing the handles to melt or break, and the air fryer ovens can also overheat, causing the glass on the door to shatter. There were 24 known reports of overheating/melting or glass shattering, including six reports of air fryers catching on fire.

 

Starbucks™ Holiday Gift Sets

Holiday gift sets containing Starbucks coffee and mugs were recalled after ten injury reports, including severe burns/blisters and one laceration. The ceramic mugs included in the sets contained a metallic coating that can overheat or break. There were 12 incidents of the mugs overheating or breaking resulting in 10 injuries, including nine severe burns/blisters on fingers or hands, and one cut on a finger. One incident required medical attention.

 

Tesla Cybertruck

The Tesla Cybertruck had more recalls in 2024 than any other vehicle on the market. At least 28,250 Cybertrucks were recalled across six individual recalls, including an incorrect/illegible font size on warning lights, unintended random acceleration, windshield wiper failure, a detachable trunk bed trim, rearview camera failure, random stopping, and tire pressure warning-light malfunction.
