Biography Overview
Mr. Hargrove graduated Magna Cum Laude from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 2001. He graduated from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University (where he attended on a full scholarship) Magna Cum Laude in 2004, finishing 4th in his Law School Class. While at Mercer, Mr. Hargrove was a member of the Mercer Law Review, Moot Court Board, and the Brainerd Curie Honor Society. Mr. Hargrove also obtained a Certificate in Advanced Legal Writing.
Mr. Hargrove is licensed in the State and Superior Courts of Georgia, the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, all Alabama State and Federal Courts and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Hargrove has been honored as a Georgia Super Lawyers "Rising Star” in his younger years and more recently as a Georgia Super Lawyer voted by his peers as one of Georgia’s best Civil Litigation Lawyers.
Mr. Hargrove began his legal career in private practice in Atlanta with the firm of King & Spalding, LLP. Mr. Hargrove then made the decision to return to his hometown of Columbus, Georgia. He joined the firm of Page, Scrantom, Sprouse, Tucker & Ford, P.C. where he practiced for ten years (six as a Partner) before joining the Finley Firm where he was a Partner for nearly eight years. During his time in private practice, Mr. Hargrove has handled cases throughout the state and federal courts in Georgia and Alabama, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in Personal Injury cases, Business Disputes, Contractual Disputes, Landlord/Tenant Disputes and Evictions, Construction Litigation, Copyright and Trademark Litigation, Banking Litigation, Workouts and Foreclosures. Mr. Hargrove has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict in Jury Trials, Bench Trials and Arbitrations acting as lead counsel and has obtained Summary Adjudication in his clients’ favor in a multitude of cases. Mr. Hargrove's recent Trial successes include a jury verdict in the amount of $1,825,000 in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama and a jury verdict in the amount of $525,000 in the State Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.
After having success representing small and large businesses in complex business disputes, Mr. Hargrove made the decision to devote his talents exclusively to assisting those who have been injured through the negligence of others.
In 2022, Mr. Hargrove was appointed by the Judges of the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit as an Assistant Magistrate Judge for Muscogee County, Georgia, a part-time position which he continues to hold in addition to his full-time law practice.
Mr. Hargrove is an Elder at Church on the Trail in Columbus, Georgia, and is the Chairman of the Board of Auburn Christian Fellowship, a Campus Ministry at Auburn University. He and his wife Trisha have three daughters. In his spare time, Mr. Hargrove enjoys coaching women's basketball and soccer. In Soccer, he holds a National USSF "D" License and is the head coach and age group lead of the 2014 Girls team at Concorde Fire South, having previously coached in multiple other age groups. In Basketball, his team will seek its fourth consecutive YMCA Championship in the winter of 2024. When not working or coaching, you can likely find Mr. Hargrove freshwater and saltwater fishing.
