Biography Overview
Todd Norbraten has litigated cases across the State of Florida since 2008. He began his career as a prosecutor with the State Attorney's Office, working on the Treasure Coast and in his home town of Miami. In 2011 he joined a statewide civil defense firm where he focused his practice on medical malpractice, negligent security and catastrophic injury cases. In 2014, Todd exited defense work and started handling Personal Injury cases for a local firm on the Treasure Coast. As a Plaintiff's attorney, Todd has litigated a wide range of cases including: motor vehicle accidents, premises negligence, defamation cases, civil rights violations, employment discrimination, medical malpractice and wrongful death claims.
Todd is a past president of the Treasure Coast Justice Association (2018) and former chair of the Martin County Bar Association Trial Lawyers Committee (2016-2019). He is admitted to practice by the Florida Bar, the Federal District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts Courts of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He has handled over 30 jury trials in his career, including co-chairing a Wrongful Death Civil Rights trial in Tampa, which resulted in a $15 million verdict in September 2022.
Todd grew up in Coconut Grove, Florida, graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science from the Warrington College of Business Administration at the University of Florida (2005), and obtained his Juris Doctorate from St. Thomas University School of Law (2008). When not working, Todd enjoys college sports, live music and traveling with his family. He is only the second best lawyer in his household as his wife Keri is also a practicing attorney. The couple has two young children.
