Biography Overview
Rosa Alvarez was born in Camaguey, Cuba and immigrated to the United States as a child with her family. She received her undergraduate degree from Loyola University, (Chicago), and later her Juris Doctor from Florida A & M.
Ms. Alvarez practices in the areas of personal injury and wrongful death. She is licensed to practice law in Florida State Courts and Federal Courts. She has represented a wide range of clients predominately in the areas of car accident litigation, wrongful death litigation, slip and fall and premises liability in general.
Prior to becoming a lawyer Ms. Alvarez worked in the Florida legislature drafting numerous bills and advocating for the underserved. Her writings have also been published in many periodicals such as “La Prensa” and “Florida Catholic”.
Ms. Alvarez has served on numerous boards including Florida’s Interagency Coordinating Council as an appointee by the Governor.
Her philanthropic efforts include The Innocence Project of Florida, Help Now, (shelter for victims of domestic violence), and Hogar Crea.
Ms. Alvarez serves as a Guardian at Litem in Polk County, Florida.
