Biography Overview
Mat has been practicing law in Mobile, AL, since 2000. His practice has been focused on representing individuals in personal injury, worker’s compensation, and fraud matters.
He has successfully advocated for hundreds of clients in Mobile and Baldwin County in cases of motor vehicle litigation, premises liability, dram shop litigation, products liability cases, toxic drug litigation as well all types of on the job injuries.
Mat has tried and arbitrated numerous cases to verdict in multiple jurisdictions over the years as well as handled multiple appellate matters in several states.
With a B.S. in Accounting from Auburn University, Mat earned his Juris Doctorate from the School of Law at the University of Alabama. In 2014, he was designated a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, one of fewer than 3% of attorneys in Alabama recognized by independent peer review, recommendation, and research.
Mat is licensed in all state courts in Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and Georgia. In addition, Mat has been admitted to practice before the US Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, the US Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, the US District Court for the Southern District of Alabama, the US District Court for the Middle District of Alabama, the US District Court for the Northern District of Alabama and the US District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.
Mat lives in Mobile, AL, with his wife and daughter. They attend Christ United Methodist Church.
