MaryElizabeth Dowell

Biography Overview

MaryElizabeth Dowell is an attorney in Morgan & Morgan's Orlando office. She was born and raised in Gainesville, Florida, where she attended many Gator football and basketball games, as well as gymnastics meets. She received her undergraduate degrees from the University of Florida in Criminology and Classical Studies and graduated summa cum laude. She was a competitor and subsequent assistant coach of the University of Florida's award-winning undergraduate mock trial team. Following graduation, she worked in the field of medical publishing, developing educational tools for medical professionals in the areas of medical terminology, pathology and anatomy.

After a time developing competency with the language of medicine, Ms. Dowell attended the University of Florida Levin College of Law. As a law student, Ms. Dowell was honored with Book Awards in the subjects of Negotiation and Arbitration. She was an executive board member of the UF Mental Health Law Association during her time as a student, as well as a competitor in the Phi Alpha Delta mock trial national championships. She received her law degree cum laude in 2019.

Following bar passage, and before joining Morgan & Morgan, Ms. Dowell worked for a firm in Orlando, FL specializing in personal injury, medical malpractice, legal malpractice and bankruptcy. Following her mother's hospitalization as a pedestrian in a hit-and-run collision, Ms. Dowell joined Morgan & Morgan, where she pursues justice on behalf of people who have been harmed and need a fighter in their corner who understands that life after a catastrophic injury is never the same.
