Biography Overview
Mark E. Hill is a workers’ compensation attorney practicing in the Melbourne office of Morgan & Morgan. His territory covers Brevard, Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee counties. His practice is concentrated solely in the representation of injured workers.
Mr. Hill was born in 1967 in Detroit Michigan. He attended Brother Rice High School and Central Michigan University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1989. He then married his wife and moved to Florida where he attended Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida earning his Juris Doctor degree in 1995, where he earned the Victor O. Wehle, Trial Advocacy Award. After working as a staff attorney for the Circuit Judges in Titusville, Florida for two years, he has been practicing in area of workers’ compensation since 1997. Initially, he worked for large insurance defense firms representing insurance companies, and employers, and government entities in the defense of workers’ compensation claims.
In 2011 he was appointed as the State Mediator for workers’ compensation in the Office of the Judges of Compensation Claims in the Melbourne/Sebastian district. This is a position he maintained until he returned to private practice in 2015. Mr. Hill successfully completed the Trial Advocacy Program of the Workers’ Compensation Section of The Florida Bar.
Mr. Hill served on the Board of Directors of the Indian River Bar Association for nine years, as a board member, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and then as President from 2011 to 2012. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Indian River County Substance Awareness Council for 2 years. He is a member of the Florida Bar and the Indian River Bar Association. He is a founding member, organizer and Master member of the Robert D. McAliley, American Inns of Court covering the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast. This is an organization focused on the skills and professionalism we strive to achieve in the practice of workers’ compensation. He is a Florida Supreme Court certified mediator and has been an AV rated preeminent attorney for over 5 years as listed by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating achievable.
