Jonathan Metz

Trial Attorney

Jonathan Metz is a trial attorney and United States Marine with litigation experience in a variety of practice areas, including personal injury, premises liability, workers' compensation, trucking, product liability, and wrongful death.  Jonathan is a graduate of Samford University's Cumberland School of Law and discovered a passion for litigation after being 1 of 6 students selected in his class of 200+ for the school's Advanced Trial Advocacy Program.  Since graduating from law school early, he has tried several bench and jury trials to verdicts in state and federal courts across Alabama and handled cases from inception through appeal.

Prior to returning to his roots as a Plaintiffs' attorney and joining the firm in 2024, Jonathan spent six years as a civil defense attorney, including time as in-house trial counsel, representing some of the largest insurers, businesses, and retailers in America.  This experience gives him unique insight into how insurers and businesses analyze, evaluate and defend injury claims-knowledge he now uses, in conjunction with the tenacity and discipline he learned in the Marine Corps, to out-maneuver the other side and maximize his clients' recovery.

While a Marine, Jonathan received a Meritorious Mast for his conduct and training proficiency, finished 1st in his training class, and served as a Lay Reader, Squad Leader, and Class Non-Commissioned Officer.

Outside the office, Jonathan enjoys leading a small group at Hunter Street Baptist Church, Crossfit, spending time with his wife, Kate, and their three children, and getting pulled into far too many home renovation projects.
