Biography Overview
Emily Jeffcott joined Morgan & Morgan’s Pensacola office in 2019 as a trial attorney in the firm’s complex litigation department. She is licensed to practice law in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, New York and the District of Columbia. Her practice areas extend primarily to product liability multi-district litigation. Presently, Ms. Jeffcott serves as co-lead counsel in the consolidated Social Media Harm litigation in California state court and is on the Plaintiffs Executive Committee in the parallel federal proceedings (In re: Social Media Addiction). Ms. Jeffcott is also a member of the Plaintiffs Steering Committee for In re: Juul Labs, Inc. Marketing, Sales Practices & Products Liability Litigation, which was recently resolved in a multi-billion dollar settlement. In addition, Ms. Jeffcott is a member of the trial team and Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee for In re: Taxotere Products Liability Litigation, serving on as co-chair for the law & briefing committee and a member of the science committee. Ms. Jeffcott and two colleagues recently led negotiations to settle a significant number of claims in the Taxotere litigation. Ms. Jeffcott is also a member of Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee for In re: Valsartan (NDMA) Contamination Products Liability Litigation, serving on both the law & briefing committee and the science committee. Ms. Jeffcott’s past multi-district litigation experience includes In re: Xarelto Products Liability Litigation, where she served as trial counsel in all bellwether trials, in addition to In re: National Prescription Opiate Litigation, In re: Zofran Products Liability Litigation, In re: FEMA Trailer Products Liability Litigation, and In re: Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill.
Ms. Jeffcott has also represented whistleblowers across the country. Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan, Ms. Jeffcott was lead counsel for Relators in a $125 million qui tam settlement against Bechtel for alleged false claims related to the Hanford Nuclear Waste Treatment Plant in Washington. Ms. Jeffcott has also litigated cases involving Medicare fraud.
A 2009 graduate of St. Mary’s University School of Law, Ms. Jeffcott received numerous accolades for her oral advocacy skills and brief writing, including being named the ABA’s third-best advocate in the United States.
