David Borrego was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in 2002 before attending Cumberland Law School in Birmingham, Alabama; receiving his Juris Doctorate in 2006.

After graduation from law school, Mr. Borrego accepted a position as an Assistant Public Defender where he represented people accused of various misdemeanors and felonies. During his time at the Public Defender's Office he litigated many jury and non-jury trials.

Prior to joining Morgan and Morgan, Mr. Borrego spent more than 10 years representing major insurance carriers and their insureds; having tried numerous civil cases to verdict in Hillsborough, Hernando, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Sarasota counties. He now dedicates his practice to helping others in his hometown and surrounding counties who have been injured as a result of the negligence of others.

Mr. Borrego is a Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney, a recognition earned by less than 2% of all Florida attorney practicing in the State of Florida. This certification is the highest level of recognition by the Florida Bar in the area of Civil Trial Litigation.
