April Fearnley attended the University of Virginia, where she studied economics and foreign affairs, chaired the University’s Honor System trials, and lived on the historic University Lawn. After graduation, April spent a year working for a national accounting firm, then enrolled in UVA Law, where she was an Olin Scholar in Law and Economics, Order of the Coif, inducted into the Raven Society, and a member of Law Review, graduating in 2002.

After law school, April clerked for the Honorable Robert Beezer of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in Seattle, then joined Sidley and Austin, LLP, a Washington D.C. firm, representing a national bank in a securities class action accounting fraud scandal. After two years, she moved to the United States Attorney’s Office in Washington D.C., where she tried over 40 cases to verdict and conducted over 100 grand jury investigations. Her prosecutorial experience spans everything from murder, assault with intent to kill, armed bank robbery, arson, to felony domestic violence cases. While working full-time, April also obtained a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Virginia, where she studied organizational leadership and strategy.

Following her time as a prosecutor, April served as defense appellate counsel to the D.C. Court of Appeals, representing six defendants on appeal convicted of first-degree murder. In 2023, she won the reversal of an aiding and abetting murder case after she and co-appellants raised 32 issues on appeal and argued the case before the D.C. Court of Appeals at oral argument.

In 2024, April joined Morgan & Morgan, a firm where she combines her trial skills and life-long goal of helping those who are injured, victimized, or otherwise silenced. She is an advocate and champion for her clients, guiding them through complex legal battles, to obtain a rightful and dignified resolution.

In her spare time, April is an avid runner (five marathons) and traveler, having visited 40 countries.
