Biography Overview
Aaron Zimmerman is a proud reborn recruiter For the People. Aaron graduated from Cornell University, Phi Beta Kappa, with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Concentration in Creative Writing. As a Visiting Student at the University of Oxford, he received First Class Marks. In his senior year of college, Aaron was admitted to nine of the top ten law schools to which he applied; he received merit-based scholarships to nearly all of these schools, including full tuition scholarships to the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Virginia. He ultimately matriculated at Harvard Law School.
Aaron then deferred his law school admission to work as a legal headhunter at a boutique recruiting firm, where he trained under two highly seasoned legal headhunters as the firm’s Litigation lead. His intention was to gain a nuanced understanding of the paths that litigators take in their careers both in the short-term and long-term. In his role as an executive recruiter, Aaron interviewed and assisted hundreds of attorneys in the recruiting process, placing attorneys at top AmLaw 100 law firms throughout the country and internationally. He also focused on multiple niche in-house counsel opportunities such as New York University’s Associate General Counsel of Litigation and the Compliance Officer for the elite hedge fund Point72, the inspiration for the tv show Billions. It was in this capacity that Aaron fell in love with the world of legal recruiting.
At Harvard Law School, Aaron served as a member of Harvard Defenders, in which he represented indigent pro bono clients in criminal defense show cause hearings, and a Peer Advisor of Harvard’s Career Services Office in order to utilize his recruiting background to assist students in their career paths. Three days before his spring 1L exams, Aaron’s aunt passed away from mesothelioma. She was one of the liveliest, dynamic individuals in his life; her death largely inspired his interest in the plaintiff’s bar. Upon graduation, Aaron began his litigation career in Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom’s New York Mass Torts, Consumer Litigation, and Insurance Practice Group and represented clients like the National Hockey League and Johnson & Johnson. He then clerked for the Honorable Paul G. Byron in Orlando, Florida. Judge Byron’s close mentorship, guidance and support proved instrumental in enabling Aaron to join Morgan & Morgan as the Senior Director of Attorney Talent Acquisition.
Aaron leverages his genuine passion for the firm’s mission and tailored background to recruit the best trial lawyers across the country. It is his greatest privilege to work For the People every day to help build the greatest injury firm in history.
